“Karas” is a type of fish in Russian, so there is the design. The strap is made of 5-6 oz soft milled vegetable tanned leather, softened with the pure Neatsfoot oil to make it more flexible. And then lined with thin and strong Italian chromium tanned leather to provide the sliding action for the player. There is a raised fish skin inlay (real carp fish skin). The strap is 100% hand stitched. About 18.5 meters (61 ft) of waxed thread was used to saddle stitch it. The strap is adjustable from 47″ to 56″.
